Banks Took Their Time and Were Hesitant to Foreclose on These Bad Loans Because of Guidance From The Federal Government and Because Prices Were Going Up And Because Interest Rates Were Low.
But Now Everything Has Changed!
Prices Have Come Down By More Than 20% in Many Markets, And The Banks Are Now Being Forced To Step In and Begin The Foreclosure Process. For The First Time Since 2000, Banks Are Beginning To File Foreclosure Notices (millions of them).
Banks Will Have To to Sell These Defaulted Mortgage Loans At A Huge Loss. This Is Very Similar To What Happened in 2008

THEY SELL THE PROPERTY AT THE FORECLOSURE AUCTION
If No One Bids, Or if The Bids Are Too Low, Then The Property Goes Bank to The Bank, And The Bank Gets The Deed To The Property.
AT THIS POINT, THE PROPERTY BECOMES KNOW AS A BANK OWNED PROPERTY, (ALSO KNOWN AS AN REO)
And What Does The Bank Do Then?
THEY LIST THE PROPERTY FOR SALE ON THE MLS!
Well, What Happened in 2008 Is About To Happen Again!!
Inflation is Still Out Of Control.....
The rapid increase in interest rates that we have recently seen is just the beginning of a much larger problem in this country. There was simply too much cash floating around. And with all that cash in the system and with interest rates at record lows, everyone was buying real estate.
The problem is that now all those buyers that purchased in 2022 at the peak of the market are underwater and since prices have come down so much, they have no equity or negative equity in their property. Alarm bells are ringing at the the banks as their valuation models are projecting more and more loans that are underwater with no equity and they are being forced to step in to rapidly file foreclosure lawsuits against the homeowner to protect their money that they have loaned.
The government only now realizes the damage that was created to the economy from printing so much money and from giving out all those government stimulus checks, and all of that PPP and EIDL Money.
There was so much money in the system that it created inflation that we have not seen in the U.S since the 1970's. The Federal Reserve was forced to increase interest rates 11 different times from almost zero percent to over 5 percent in order to contain inflation.
In doing so, they created a situation where real estate prices increased so much so quickly that it became no longer affordable to buy a home for the average American. And that is why there are so few buyers and so many more sellers and why inventory is increasing so dramatically on the MLS as more and more sellers are listing their home. The net result is why real estate prices have come down so much since 2022.
A FEW MONTHS AGO, THE FEDERAL RESERVE WAS TELLING US THAT EVERYING IS FINE WITH THE ECONOMY. WE NOW KNOW THAT THIS IS NOT TRUE. THE FED IS NOW URGENTLY TRYING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM THAT IT CREATED BY LOWERING INTEREST RATES
BUT UNFORTUNATELY IT'S TOO LATE.....
Millions Of People in the U.S. Are Already Struggling To Pay Their Household Bills, And It's Going To Get Much Worse.
